Henry A. Carpenter II, Esq., CELA, LL.M. in Taxation
Elder Law Attorney Proudly Serving Pennsylvania and New Jersey

Henry A. Carpenter II, Esq. is a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) and the Founder of Bucks County Elder Law. A pioneer and recognized expert in the areas of Life Care Planning and Elder Law, Henry is the Former Chairman of the Elder Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar. He is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the National Elder Law Foundation (NELF), and the Life Care Planning Law Firms Association.
A frequently published author and sought-after speaker, Henry hosts the radio show Senior Legal Strategies on WBCB1490AM. He holds a Masters Degree in the Law of Taxation and is licensed to practice in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Clients and acquaintances often ask Henry how he came to focus on the highly specialized area of Elder Law. He tells them that he always wanted to do what he does now, even as a young boy. This response typically elicits raised eyebrows and a hint of skepticism. Henry explains:
“One day, my Aunt Chrissie asked me the question, familiar to all children, ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’ I replied that I wanted to be a lawyer. She chuckled and said ‘You mean like Perry Mason?’ I said ‘No, no, no, I want to be one of those lawyers who does the papers and helps people.’ Everyone got a laugh out of that, in part because at the time no one in our family had gone to college, let alone become a lawyer. Chrissie said ‘If you go to law school, I’ll come to the graduation.’ XX years later, she was waiting at the bottom of the stairs when I walked off the stage with my diploma.”
While Elder Law didn’t even exist back then, it has become the perfect way for Henry to use the law to help seniors protect their life savings and independence, and provide families with guidance during difficult times in their lives.
As an attorney, Henry A. Carpenter has always stressed the importance of family, community and collaboration. Everyone at Bucks County Elder Law is committed to providing clients with the personal attention they deserve. Clients often feel a sense of relief and hope for the future after their first meeting with Henry. Over time, many feel like part of Henry’s extended family—which, in essence, they are.
Henry and his wife, Marie, are the proud parents of three adult children and have lived in Yardley since 1988. Henry enjoys golf, wood working, traveling, supporting his favorite teams, and spending time with family and friends.
